Tim Michael McCaig grew up on Ft. Hamilton Parkway in Brooklyn — two miles down the road from where a kid named Neil Diamond grew up. Forty-plus years and a few thousand gigs later, he's still singing those songs, along with Cash, Van Morrison, Willie Nelson, Glen Campbell, George Strait and Gordon Lightfoot, in a baritone that has earned him the nickname "The Voice of Diamonds."
Before Florida's Gulf coast claimed him, McCaig spent nineteen years as the members-club house musician at The Breakers in Palm Beach, playing for kings, presidents, athletes and A-listers. These days he's a fixture on the Bradenton–Sarasota circuit: Longboat Key Resort, Lido Beach Resort, the Sarasota Yacht Club, the Historic Bridge Street Pier, and a standing spot at Motorworks Brewing's Sunday brunch under the big oak.
He works the room from a piano or a guitar, an award-winning vocalist who treats a sing-along as the whole point. Ask for a song. He probably knows it.
